This is a rubbed copy of an inscription on a stele erected to commemorate the patriotic activities of the Buddhist monk Seosan, who fought against Japanese invaders during the Imjin Waeran (Japanese invasion) of the late 16th century. The stele is currently kept at Baekhwaam Hermitage on Geumgangsan Mountain in North Korea. The contents of the stele were composed by Yi U-sin and hand-written by Jo Myeong-gyo and Yun Deuk-hwa.
