The Chinese characters written on the top-left of this painting state that it was executed by Kim Duryang (1696-1763) on Chuseok (the 15th day of the eighth lunar month) in 1744, when he was 49 years old. The painting portrays a calm but dreary autumnal atmosphere of bare trees and a forest beyond a fog under the full moon.
