This gilt-bronze standing Amitabha Buddha has a low-set head with a topknot of curled hair. The right hand points downward and the left hand is suspended at the waist. The robe hangs across both shoulders and has U-shaped drapery. Part of the skirt shows beneath the robe, and the left foot is lifted slightly. The austere facial expression and the folds of the robe are typical of Buddhist statues produced in the 8th century.
