This work by Kang Se-hwang was painted during his later period when he was 77 years old. He recalled childhood memories as he was passing by Pigeumjeong Pavilion in Geumseong Fortress when his oldest son Kang In went to take up his new post as the Magistrate of Hoeyang. This was not created while at the scene itself, but in the office of Hoeyang. It recalls Chinese landscape paintings more than the charm of a real landscape. This largest of his true-view landscape paintings clearly demonstrates his strong command of composition.
