Gosan Gugok Damgi (On the Nine Valleys at Mt. Gosan) is a prose work written by Choe Rip (pen-name: Gani), a famous writer of the Joseon Dynasty. The text expresses Choe’s longing for Yi I (pen-name: Yulgok) and describes Gugokdam Pond of Mt.Gosan in Hwanghae-do, where Yi I stayed, comparing it to Zhu Xi’s Wuyi jiuqu (In Praise of the Beauty of Mount Wuyi). Essentially, the work concerns Yi I, a lover of nature who resided in an ideal location. This is a transcription of the text which Kim Su-jeung (pen-name: Gogun) wrote by hand in the plain square style.
