Guardian deities originating out of the indigenous gods of India were once accepted as part of the Buddhist pantheon and played the role of protecting the law and answering prayers. This painting, initially housed at Daejeoksa Temple in Cheongdo, displays a natural style and composition. Surrounding Naga at the center are various deities such as Garuda with his bird face and feathers, Gandharva, wearing his lion crown, and Kinnara with his feather crown.
