This handwritten poem is contained in Haedong myeongpilcheop (A Selection of Calligraphy by Master Calligraphers in Korea). Seong Hon, the author of this poem, was a leading neo-Confucian scholar of the Joseon period. He and Yi I (pen-name: Yulgok) were prominent figures of the political faction known as Seoin (Westerners).
