The Mongolian Plateau has been called a “quiet battlefield” in the world of archeology because of its
unique relics. In 2007, the National Museum of Korea discovered a large group of tombs from the
Xiongnu period at a site about four hundred kilometers to the northeast of Ulan Bator, after more
than ten years of work with its Mongolian counterpart. This exhibition promises to shed new light
on the Xiongnu empire.
