The National Museum of Korea presents the thematic exhibition ‘The Buddhist Hanging Scroll at Gaeamsa Temple’ which is the large Buddhist painting once used for outdoor rituals. This display is part of the regular series of the Buddhist painting exhibition held in the National Museum of Korea, and the Buddhist hanging scroll from Gaeamsa Temple in Mt. Neungga, Buan-gun, Jeollanamdo province will be presented to the public for this special occasion. We hope the exhibition could offer an opportunity to appreciate majestic beauty of the large Buddhist painting (h. 13m) which was produced by the 18th Century monk painter Ui-gyeom.
