The National Museum of Korea presents the thematic exhibition ‘Encounter with Amitāyus in Sukhāvatī, Buddhist Hanging Scroll at Hengguksa Temple’ which displays the large hanging scroll once used for Buddhist outdoor rituals. This display is part of the regular series of the Buddhist painting exhibition held in the National Museum of Korea, and the Buddhist hanging scroll from Heungguksa Temple in Goyang city will be presented to the public for this occasion. We hope the exhibition could offer an opportunity to reveal traditional heritage and to appreciate a new direction in the history of Modern Korean Buddhist art.
