Focusing on the activities and aspirations of patrons of Korean Buddhist art, this exhibition uses an array of Buddhist artworks - including sculptures, craftworks, paintings, and scriptures - to show how patrons have shaped the trajectory of Korean Buddhist culture over time. Recent research has unveiled new details about how patrons have long sought to employ religious artworks to reflect the complex interrelations of their faith, power, and socio-economic status.
