Celebrating the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and the United Kingdom, 52 masterpieces from the National Gallery, London will travel to Korea for the first time.

The featured artists include some of the greatest names in art history, such as Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Poussin, Velazquez, Van Dyck, Rembrandt, Goya, Turner, Constable, Thomas Lawrence, Manet, Monet, Renoir, Gauguin, and Van Gogh.

The exhibition will follow the passages in European painting from the 15th to the early 20th century, presenting, inter alia, Renaissance paintings rarely introduced in Korea and the Post-Impressionist paintings long beloved by Korean audiences. The masterpieces will allow us to visualize how the artists’ focus shifted from veneration of God to our daily lives.
