This gilt-bronze inner chest used for storing gold sutra plaques was discovered during the dismantling and restoration of the Five-story Stone Pagoda in Wanggung-ri in 1965. The chest looks much like a cubic box and has a lid with beveled edges and a lotus flower with twenty-one petals carved in high relief at the center top, with a ring pierced through it. The chest was originally placed inside the outer chest, which is also made of gilt-bronze.
