This transcription of the Saddharma Pundarika Sutra (The Lotus Sutra) in Silver on Oak Paper is copied from the Chinese translation of the sutra by Kumarajiva. The copied sutra contains a postscript which states that it was copied in the 4th lunar month of 1373 (the 22nd year of the reign of King Gongmin of the Goryeo Dynasty). There is also a record at the back of the sutra that it had been preserved in Dogapsa Temple in Yeongam. The covers are luxuriously decorated with a Buddhist floral design painted in gold and silver.
