Yi Jeong (1554-1626, pen-name: Taneun,) was skilled in painting bamboo trees. Along with Yu Deok-jang and Shin Wi, he was regarded as one of the three greatest painters of bamboo trees in black ink of the Joseon period. The Chinese characters on the bottom-right state that it was painted in the spring of 1622 at Wolseonjeong Pavilion. The painting portrays a bamboo tree drenched with rain.
