As with the Goryeo Dynasty example Bronze Bell with Inscription of the Fourth Cheongnyeong Year (1058), flower petal decoration was added to the top of this temple bell. Korean-style Buddhist bells went through a number of changes up to the Joseon period. Similarities to this bell can be seen in an example made in 1491, the 4th Hongchi Year of the Joseon Dynasty, located in Daejeokgwangjeon Hall of Haeinsa Temple in Hapcheon. Stylistic elements from Chinese Buddhist bells influenced their Korean counterparts in the late Goryeo period, and it seems this bell was produced in this context.
