Introduction
- The Calligraphy and Painting Gallery is dedicated to the appreciation of notable Korean paintings and works of calligraphy from the past. It is divided into four sections: Gallery I traces the history of calligraphy from the Three Kingdoms period through the Joseon Dynasty and features outstanding works from each era. Galleries II and III showcase ink-and-wash paintings created purely for artistic appreciation, with Gallery III in particular presenting thematic exhibitions. Gallery IV features colored documentary and decorative paintings. Due to the sensitivity of calligraphy and painting to light and heat, all exhibited works are rotated three to four times a year to ensure their proper preservation.
