Pottery of the Northeastern Region

The Duman River Basin is the center of the northeast region. In this area, the main type of pottery was flat-bottomed. In the early period (from 6,000 to 4,000 BCE), many vessels were bowl-shaped, and their surfaces were decorated with stamped triangles, circles, and short comb patterns. In the later period (from 4000 BCE), flowerpot and rounder jar-shaped vessels became dominant.
