Silver Cosmetics Containers from the Tomb of Lady Hong
Lady Hong, the younger sister of the renowned late-Joseon civil official Hong Gukyeong, became the consort of King Jeongjo in 1778 at the age of thirteen, but she died the next year of an illness. Found inside her tomb were these four containers: one red glass container, one silver octagonal container, and two round silver containers with inscriptions). Both the red glass container and the octagonal container were found to contain some white cosmetic power.
