Gilt-silver Cup and Stand

Gilt-silver Cup and Stand
This gilt-silver cup and stand set was used to drink tea, wine, or other alcohol. Both the cup and stand are shaped like six-petal flowers, and further decorated with incision and repoussé techniques. According to Illustrated Record of the Chinese Embassy to the Goryeo Court in the Xuanhe Era by Xu Jing, an envoy from China’s Song Dynasty, a gilt-silver cup and stand such as this were used to offer liquor to foreign envoys during the Goryeo Dynasty.
