Pranidhi Scene

This particular fragment comes from Cave 15 of the Bezeklik Caves, which is decorated with fifteen different Pranidhi paintings, depicting episodes from the previous lives of the different incarnations of Shakyamuni Buddha. The fragment shows a hand delicately holding a flower, with parts of two halos visible on the left and right, respectively. In the upper right, part of a white band where an inscription was written can also be seen. Although the background is now light brown, it is believed to have originally been blue.
