Ten-story Stone Pagoda of Gyeongcheonsa Temple

The pagoda was built inside Gyeongcheonsa Temple in present-day Gaeseong, Gyeonggi Province, which is about 60 km from where you are now standing. During the Goryeo Dynasty, the royal family frequented this temple, and the royal court often held memorial service and rituals there.
On the first story, there is a carved inscription that reveals when the pagoda was constructed. This inscription reveals that the pagoda was commissioned by Goryeo citizens who supported the Yuan Dynasty.
Notably, about 120 years after this pagoda was built, the Joseon royal court made another stone pagoda with a similar shape and material, which was erected at Wongaksa Temple.
