The National Museum of Korea,Seoul,Republic of Korea offers fellowship to provide opportunties at
museum relevant filds to conduct research and to share the outcomes. We encourage the qualified
applicants to apply for the 2009 Fellowship Program.

1.General Information
 A.Tenure/ Number of Awardee: September, 2009 - December, 2009
   (4 months) / 1 Person
 B.Main Contents
  ㅇResearch Fields
    - History, Archeology, History of Art, Anthropology, Collections Management, Conservation,
      Museology, Museum Education and other museum related fields.
  ㅇActivities
    - Including the opportunities of academic research, seminar and/or public lecture.
    - Field trip
  ㅇFinancial Support
    - Recipient's round-trip air ticket to/from Korea
    - Accommodation and monthly settling-in allowance
    - Health insurance
    - Office space and equipment for research at the National Museum of Korea.
    ※ Other expenses related with research or research materials will not be on the Museum,
        but on the recipient.

2.Application Process and Selection
 A.Minimum Qualifications
    ㅇMaster Degree in museum relevant areas and ten (10) years of professional experience in
      museums or related organizations;
    ㅇFluency of Korean and/or English to conduct research;
    ㅇPerson in sound physical condition to carry out research project during the tenure in Korea.
 B.Selection Process
   ㅇ1st selection: Application review (July 2009).
   ㅇ2nd selection: Telephone interview (July 2009 - August 2009).
   ㅇFinal notification: will be posted on the Museum website (August 2009).
    ※ None may be awarded if applicants do not meet the qualifications above.

3.Required Materials
  ㅇCompleted and signed application.Application form is downloadable.[download]
  ㅇCurriculum vitae (Certified documents for evidence should be added in the application packet).
  ㅇResearch proposal (5 pages, A4, 12 points, double-spaced).
    ※Please attach a piece of photo
       of the applicant on the first page of the application form.
  ㅇOne original transcript of the most recently graduated academic institution.
  ㅇOne original certificate of present enrollment (if applicable).
  ㅇOne original certificate of employment (if applicable), with its duration, title of the position and the 
     responsibilities in details.
  ㅇTwo letters of recommendation in sealed and signed envelope, should be sent directly to the
     Office of the 2009 Fellowship Program no later than July 15, 2009.
    ※ Any documents not in either Korean or English should be provided with the notarized translations
        in Korean or in English.

4.Application Procedure and Submission
 A.Application Form
   ㅇThe Fellowship guidance is printable and the application form is downloadable at the National
      Museum of Korea website.[download]
 B.Deadline: July 15, 2009.
    ※ All completed application packet and letters of recommendation should be received on or before
       July 15, 2009.
 C.Submission
  ㅇAll the completed application material should be posted in a registered post. Faxed or
     electronically transferred application materials will not be accepted.
  ㅇIncomplete applications will not be reviewed.
