This is a document made for the transaction of a slave in the third lunar month of 1712 (the 38th year of King Sukjong’s reign). It says that Yeongman, a slave of Yi, is selling a slave on behalf of Yi to Sangun, a slave of Yun (a military official) for the price of 45 nyang. During the Joseon Period, the nobility carried out land or house transactions using the names of slaves. This deed attests to the existence of such transactions.
