This relatively intricate, picturesquely drawn map of Dancheon, Hamgyeong-do shows government office buildings, a local Confucian school, small Buddhist temples, warehouses, and post stations as well as natural landscapes. Indeed, mountains, trees, and grotesque-looking coastal cliffs are all exquisitely portrayed.
The office buildings in each eup (administrative unit) are portrayed in detail, as are military installations such as Byeolpocheong, Chingiwicheong, Gapsacheong, Gasolcheong. Yangsajae, a study hall for Confucian scholars, is located close to the local hyanggyo (Confucian school). Villages, Buddhist hermits, and storage facilities are clearly shown, as are rows of willow trees along Namdaecheon Stream, which flows in front of the town, and pine forests to the south and east of Dancheon.
