Some of the ceramics crafted in Silla and Gaya were decorated with geometric line patterns made with a sharp bamboo knife. Favored subjects for such patterns included horses, either at a full gallop with their manes flying in the wind or at leisurely trot. The most conspicuous feature of this vessel is the horse pattern inscribed on its shoulder.
