The Chinese characters on the middle left of this painting indicate that Sim Sa-jeong produced this work in the summer of 1768 by referring to a work by Lin Liang of the Ming Dynasty. The delicate depiction of pheasants and rabbits, and the dried brushstrokes used for the pine tree reflect the Chinese Southern School of literati painting, illustrating the complexity of Sim Sa-jeong’s painting style.
