This exhibit consists of two knives used to trim nails and the box to store them. A partition inside the box divides the space to store the two nail knives separately. Like other wedding items, it is decorated with hollyhock, peony, and arabesque motifs using the maki-e technique of applying lacquer and affixing gold powder by sprinkling it on top before the lacquer dries.
