Cup with Lotus Petal

The surface of the body of this cup is embossed with overlapping lotus patterns, and the knob on the lid is shaped like a lotus bud. The green glaze pooling in areas and highlighting the patterns conveys a sense of three-dimensionality. This example is similar in form to one discovered in Jangneung Royal Tomb, the burial of King Injong (r. 1122–1146), allowing the estimation of its production period.
