Celadon Maebyeong, Vase with Cranes and Clouds with inlaid design
This piece is characterized by elegant curves and a design executed across the surface in a spacious manner against a jade-green
background that serves as the sky. Cloud and crane designs are common in Goryeo celadon, but are not found on Chinese versions. Cranes
symbolize a noble spirit and longevity and appear to have been a reflection of the wishes of the Goryeo people to resemble cranes.
