cenic Spots of Hahoe and Andong

This ten-panel folding screen consists of eight real scenery landscapes depicting views from across the region of Andong. The sixteenth-century literati Yu Jungyeong commissioned a painter to recreate images of Andong area out of a longing for his hometown and poems by Jeong Yugil and Yi Hwang were added in this screen, but they were lost in wartime. 200 years later, Yu Cheoljo, a descendant of Yu Jungyeong, and Jeong Wonyong, a descendant of Jeong Yugil, reproduced the screen by combining paintings with poems to recall the enduring positive relations between the two families. The literati painter Yi Uiseong is presumed to have referred to a map of Andong rather than actually scenery.
