Uigwe for the Constructing the Tomb of Queen Inseon
This Uigwe on the construction of Queen Inseon’burial mound features painting of the four directional deities (the blue dragon, white tiger, vermilion phoenix, and black tortoise) that were on the interior walls of the outer coffin structure(changung), built to temporarily house the coffin before burial. They were meant to protect the coffin. However, the actual paintings can be seen only in the Uigwe records because the whole structure had to be burned up after the funeral.
