Gilt-bronze Crown Ornament
Headgear worn by Goguryeo people differed in shape according to the wearer’s status. One of the most popular types of headgear was the jowugwan, consisting of a feather affixed to a conical cap. These gilt-bronze headgear decorations were made by twisting the edges of uprights one by one to resemble bird feathers and further engraving trefoil patterns. Such decorations were used as symbols of status and authority for the ruling class in ancient states.
