Chestnuts
The remains of chestnuts and persimmons, two of the tri-colored fruits traditionally placed as offerings during rituals, were identified in the grave. The persimmons had been placed in a fine lacquered vessel, while the chestnuts were likely used in rituals honoring the dead. It is recorded that chestnuts as large as pears grew in the lands of Samhan, suggesting that they were one of the widely known specialties of Samhan.
