This type of bronze mirror was popular in China’s Han Dynasty around the 1st century BCE. The back of the mirror was decorated with a variety of symbols and inscriptions rendered around the central knob. The inscriptions often symbolized loyalty to the monarch or wishes for good fortune in one’s life.
