This object has several holes throughout, suggesting that it had been hung using ties. Decorations, which have only been rendered onto the
front side, consist of four parts. At the top of the object is a fern pattern and several small birds. Located below that are two decorative panels. The upper panel features a mountain-shaped image, and the lower panel depicts two large birds facing each other. A pattern consisting of repeating triangles and rectangles can be seen at the object’s base. In ancient times, birds were considered to be sacred beings that brought well-being and abundance to villages by bringing grain. They were also perceived as mediators between the heavens, earth, and water, connecting all things. This bronze ritual artifact with bird decoration reflects peoples’ perception of birds as sacred beings.
