Gilt Bronze Face-shaped Ornaments

These face-shaped ornaments are known to have come from Maoershan, Jilin City, China, which is believed to have been the capital of the Buyeo. The hair has been pulled back to form a topknot, the forehead has three lines of wrinkles, and the open mouth reveals teeth. Holes can be found on the earlobes, topknot, and chin, and on the backside, a vertical loop is located between the two eyes. These ornaments appear to have been hung for decoration or used as masks.
