Shield-shaped Bronze Object

This bronze object was recovered from a stone-packed grave in Gwejeong-dong, Daejeon, along with a slender bronze dagger, coarse-design bronze mirror, and attached-rim pottery. It is shaped like a shield, with an angled top and a rounded bottom; it also resembles an elongated tongue. The front is decorated with rectangular dotted stripes in the center and along the edges, but the back is left undecorated. The four square holes in the top show signs of wear, indicating that this object had been used.
