Grain-pattern Pottery (Geomdan-ri-type Pottery)

Diagonal, grain-shaped incised patterns can be observed near the rim. Vessels of this pottery type are mostly shaped like deep bowls and feature small, rod-shaped lugs on both sides. In contrast to Songguk-ri-type pottery, it is mainly distributed in the areas of Ulsan, Gyeongju, and Pohang. Vessels of this type are also known as Geomdan-ri-type pottery after the Geomdan-ri site in Ulsan.
