Purpose of this royal procession : To carry the funeral bier of Queen Jangryeol (1624-1688), King Injo’s second queen, from the palace to her tomb.
Summary of the royal procession : At around 3:00 a.m. on December 15, 1688, the procession departed from Honghwamun Gate of Changgyeonggung Palace, and arrived about 12 hours later at Donggureung Tombs in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province.
Production of 3D content : This 3D multimedia rendering was created from the original illustration of the royal procession. Specialists were consulted about details that were not apparent from the original illustration.
