Celadon vessels decorated with iron-brown underglaze are characterized by bold patterns and compositions, as demonstrated by this cylindrical bottle. Unlike the expansive designs of other celadon vessels with iron-brown underglaze, the willows here are rather sparse and widely spaced, recalling the simple aesthetics and dignified grace of an ink-wash painting.
