Gold Crown from Geumnyeongchong Tomb

Gold Crown from Geumnyeongchong Tomb
Excavated from Geumnyeongchong Tomb in Gyeongju, this gold crown of Silla consists of a headband decorated with both branch-shaped and antler-shaped uprights. By the time that the north mound of Hwangnamdaechong Tombs was constructed in the fifth century, the style of Silla gold crowns was fully developed, and they were used for state rituals or funerals. The branch-shaped and antler-shaped uprights symbolize a medium connecting earth and heaven.
