Foreign groom in a tributary procession

Relief fragment depicting a groom leading two horses by their reins. The horses are outfitted in elaborate harnesses, cheek pieces, and tassels with characteristic Assyrian rosettes, as well as a large crest at the crown of their heads. The groom's non-Assyrian hairstyle marks him as a foreigner. This image is part of a larger scene of a foreign delegation bearing tribute to Assyria.
