The "Standard Inscription" of Ashurnasirpal II records his royal titles, his military exploits, and describes in detail the construction of the Northwest Palace at Nimrud. The same inscription appears in other exemplars from Nimrud and also appears on each of the sculptural orthostat reliefs that decorated Ashurnasirpal's throne room and other spaces of the palace.
