White Porcelain Incense Holder and Teapot

These two superb white porcelain artifacts reflect the culture of the Joseon period, when drinking tea and burning incense were popular practices for self-cultivation and meditation. The lid of the teapot is sculpted to look like a dragon that is set to soar into the sky, while the incense holder is decorated with a dragon that towers over a mountain and house. Both vessels are coated with sublime bluish glaze of the finest quality. These monochrome white porcelain vessels exude the aesthetics of clarity and lucidity, such that one’s mind and body seem to become purified just by looking at them.
