Roof tiles with a beast design were manufactured in large quantities during the Unified Silla Period. Those made in the late 7th century and the early 8th century reached mature stage in terms of the overall shape and design. This roof tile features the close-up face of a beast, enhancing the sense of voluminous-ness.
