This is an atlas containing the maps of all the counties and prefectures of Hwanghae-do. The expression of mountainous regions and overall atmosphere are similar to the Haedong jido (Atlas of Korea) kept in the Gyujanggak. Details about the populations, the military, finances, distances, etc. were written in the margins of the maps. Major government buildings were marked at the fortress town where the government offices were located. The places for memorial services, such as a local Confucian school, an altar to the State deities, an altar for lonely spirits, an altar to the village deities, etc. were marked in detail. In addition, cultural elements such as Buddhist temples and lecture halls were considered important. Among the administrative units, the myeon were recorded while the smaller ri were not. In particular, military elements such as mountain fortresses were drawn in detail.
