This is armor with leather scales attached to the inside, which is a rare type of armor. Chinese characters, presumably reading “Kim Chi-hyeong (金致衡),” are on the back of the lining, and other names, such as Kwon Myeong-hyeon and Park Jong-hu, are inscribed on a scale. It is thought that these names refer to the persons who wore or made this armor. The armor is assumed to have been made during the 18th century.
