This Hwangja Chongtong gun is the smallest of all the guns produced in the Joseon Period. It was made to meet the need for guns that could be moved around faster and more easily. According to the inscription on its body, this gun was made in 1587 (the 20th year of King Seonjo’s reign). The mouth is the thinnest part of the gun, while the body thickens toward the barrel. The barrel displays four joints similar to bamboo joints.
