Dusi Eonhae (Korean Translation of Du Fu’s Poems) includes 1647 poems of Du Fu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, and sixteen poems by other poets, along with annotations and Korean explanations of those poems. Du Fu’s collection was widely read in the Goryeo and Joseon Dynasties when poems of the Tang and Song Dynasties were regarded as the exemplars of scholarly poems. A number of annotation books were published in China and introduced to Korea. The ample vocabulary and old writing style of this book help with research on the Korean language in the medieval period as well as on Chinese poetry of the same period.
